Speech Therapy Services

What is Speech-Language Therapy?

Speech-Language therapy services evaluate patients with language and speech impairments or disorders and conducts remedial programs designed to restore or improve their communication efficacy. Speech pathologists (SLPs) assess and treat people with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. A speech disorder commonly refers to a problem with the actual production of sounds, whereas a language disorder references a difficulty in understanding or putting words together to communicate ideas. These services could be needed if a person is suffering from cases such as stuttering, hearing impairments, weak oral muscles, autism and various swallowing disorders to name a few.
